An epic theatric feature from Japan by the producer of the "Neo Genesis Evangelion" anime series, Higuchi Shinji and based on the novel by Fukui Harutoshi. Lorelei is about the adventure a World War II Frigate of the Royal Japanese army and the mystery surrounding the enigmatic operator of Lorelei, Paula Ebner. In 2005, Kaiyodo produced a series of "Lorelei" associated figurines such as book exclusives, bath-soap ship collections from Takara as well as this 7-11 exclusive set of figurines. I only wanted the 2 fully-colored character figurines of Paula and was pretty glad to get them loosely at La Tendo. |

The Girl of the Dry SuitNice vignette of Paula sitting on her operating helm , in her cool black dry suit with pipes connecting to the helm and hands controlling the ship with her hands. Reminds me of Bulma from DBZ Imagination Part 1 but of course Enoki sensei delivers a stunningly intricate and firm piece as compared to the Bandai one.

The Portrait of the WitchNormally not into bust figures but I love the way Enoki sensei did a bust of Paula Edner using the wires connected on the rear of her dry suit to propel her forward. The face exudes oriental feminism; the details and paintjob of the dry suit is very nice and has that rustic feel. I also love the way the wires joined Paula to the base (which is part of her helm as well); creative yet very stable.

Beautifully sculpted by Enoki sensei once again which shows he is not just good in doing adorable anime characters but more realistic ones as well. |
