さよなら、999号

A beautiful vignette which depicts the separation between Tetsuro & Maetel and said his final goodbye to his beloved No. 999. If you managed to position their proximity properly, you can get that endearing kiss goodbye between the two. Love the expression of a shell-shocked Tetsuro. The miniature Galaxy Express rushing out off the  violet-tinted fume is splendidly done and the packaging takes a lot of effort to ensure the train is intact in the box. As for the fume and smoke, it may be a bit chaotic but they play an important part to stabilize the entire piece. This is indeed art rather than just toy!

鉄郎

Our valiant hero of the series armed himself with a space pistol to go against his enemies along the way. An interesting piece which takes a while to rig up especially the base which consist of a green ooze streak which is firm enough to hold the figurine securely as well as a hard shell with a skull emblem. I really like all the details included in this piece such as the bullets-ridden hat, the wavy cape, the space pistol with a skull on the handle as well as the nice attire which bears a cool holster for the pistol. Tetsuro's face is nicely done as well as I really dig that smug look.

車掌さんとガラスのクレア

The hilarious conductor of No. 999 lights up the series with his usual antics and here he was accompanied by a spirit-like character known as Claire. The main feature of this piece has to be the conductor of course. A really well-done bust with prominent pose of him saluting to his passengers. I really love the paintjob as the blue and red color of the uniform really looks nice and the golden buttons standing out elegantly. The sculptor did not forget about details such as the crest on his pick-cap and the arm bad around his left arm. As for the transparent Claire, she is a much better sculpt version of Windy from the "HGIF Card Captor Sakura Part 2", enough said.

メーテル

A nice piece showing the elegant yet mystical Maetel forming her true form from some water like substance. I am not sure whether she really did appeared like that in the anime series, but pretty cool effect we have here. I love the way the sculptor transit from the viscous watery form into a more solid human form. You can even see the tip of her blond hair transform from clear to full color body. The facial sculpt too appealing to me but love that black mourning dress and that authentic chain watch she is holding in her left hand, small but intricate.

機械伯爵

Another one of the visually pleasing piece which focus on the main villain of the series, Count Mecha who brutally murdered Tetsuro's mother during a hunting trip. Here we see the android like Mecha with a dismembered left arm standing in front of a facade consist of a nice photo frame or a picture hung on top of the wall with a pair of fencing swords crossing which look really authentic. The base consist of a glass panel like thing above a machinery wheel with some broken down remnants on the backdrop; sure exudes that artistic aura. As for the character itself, the pose is pretty unique with a stable sculpt sitting nicely on top of the base and the uniform brilliant weaved,

Final Rating:

They claimed it took 3 years in the making; and I think their efforts are all well worth it. One of the best set of  trading figurines in 2005!
